Overview
A cooperative of thirty-one Ngäbe weavers working around Tolé, selling directly instead of through the roadside middlemen who have historically taken most of the margin. Every piece carries a tag with the name of the woman who made it, the community she made it in, and the price split — which is printed on the tag because the cooperative would rather answer that question before it is asked. The chácara bags are worked from pita and cabuya fibre and take between two weeks and two months depending on size and pattern. Anything not in stock is made to order and takes as long as it takes; the cooperative will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one. Orders ship from Tolé within Panama and internationally on request.

Beaded cuff in the same patterns as the collars. The cheapest way into the work and the thing that sells out first.

Woven field hat in natural fibre. Practical rather than decorative and the reason half the cooperative owns one.

Beaded collar in the geometric patterns of the Tolé communities. Each one is strung to a pattern the maker owns.

Everyday size in cabuya fibre with a single dyed band. The one most people actually use once they get home.

Full-size shoulder bag in natural pita fibre with a two-colour spiral. Around six weeks of work. Tagged with the weaver's name and community.

Full traditional dress in appliquéd cotton, made to order in your measurements. Six to eight weeks.

Tight weave, right strap
What stood out
Chácara shipped to Casa Coral on time. Weave is tight and the strap length is right.
