Casco Antiguo Walking Tours
Walking tours of Casco Viejo and Panamá Viejo led by two historians and an architect, run at a size where you can hear the guide without a headset. The route changes with the restoration work, which is the point — the guides will tell you what was behind the scaffolding last month. Morning and late-afternoon departures only; nobody enjoys Casco at one in the afternoon.

- A step-free alternative route can be arranged with 48 hours notice
- Panamá Viejo is largely step-free
Overview
Walking tours of Casco Viejo and Panamá Viejo led by two historians and an architect, kept small enough that nobody needs a headset to hear the guide. The route is not fixed, and that is deliberate: it moves with the restoration work, so the guides can take you to whatever came out from behind the scaffolding since last month and explain what was found. The architecture walk goes deeper on the building fabric; the general history walk covers the three cities and why each one was abandoned. Departures are morning and late afternoon only, because walking Casco at one in the afternoon is something nobody has ever enjoyed. Groups cap at twelve.

Opciones de tour

Two and a half hours across the three cities and why each one was abandoned. Interior access on two buildings and a coffee stop halfway.

Led by the architect, going deeper on building fabric and the restoration itself. Route depends on what came out from behind the scaffolding this month.

The 1519 site and its museum, three hours with transport from Casco. Largely step-free and the better of the walks for families.
