Overview
A six-room posada on the ridge above Santa Fe, on the divide where the Caribbean and Pacific watersheds meet. It is high enough that nobody has ever asked for air conditioning and cool enough at night to want the extra blanket that is already on the bed. The family has run it for two generations; the kitchen cooks whatever came up from the valley that morning, which in practice means a lot of yuca, river shrimp and coffee from the next ridge over. The orchid trail and the Bulabá river pools both start at the gate, and Idalia will walk the first kilometre with you if she is not cooking.

Trail-gate amenity
What stood out
Simple, clean, and the trail behind the posada is the real amenity. Bring a rain shell.
What could improve
A rain shell at check-in would help first-timers.

Bulabá by the trail gate
What stood out
Bulabá room closest to the trail gate. Cool nights, simple breakfast, kids slept.
What could improve
Hot water was slow in the morning.
